I prefer just green veg in my bubble, but as you say a bit crispy on the outside is perfect

Spuds, sprouts, peas, carrots, parsnips, sweet corn will go in. Maybe a chopped fresh onion too.

On the subject of bubble & squeak, what are folk's preferences?

We tend to mash all the veg in a bowl with some butter. Then form into patties with some flour and fry. Crispy on the outside and fluffy hot heaven outside!

Mate's wife is Indian and she does it in a big pan with spices like a hash but adds shredded turkey etc. (Great cook btw). Fusion cooking I guess!

Good shout. Id some sprouts needed using up so ive boiled them with a big spud and some peas, plenty seasoning, and fried in butter. Had it with some brisket and onion gravy. Was lovely
