This brings me back to the builders breakfast in what's now called "Golden Chefs Cafe" in Croydon. Some of the well-fed lads in BT were fit for it; chops, chips, hash browns, plus the standard large fry-up... I managed on the "mini", which was no small feat.

Also, a place by the name of Savages, on Crossmaglen, in Armagh, nestled behind a little cafe..... I'll make it my mission to try a breakfast there and finish it.....

I would sign a petition for that to be listed and to have it's portrait hung in the National Gallery. This is why people wanted to come to the UK in the first place, imagine growing up in a far flung place and seeing that.

Where is the slice of plain or toasted bread under the egg to soak up the yolk and bacon juice ? Always did that before SWMBO as it made the plate easier to wash .

I'd only use a slice of bread to soak up the water from a poached egg, otherwise I see it as just a filler
