Wheelie bin compactor build

A friend of mine used to make these as a business when the 2 week bin collections came in - his just hooked under the bins own handle for leverage though, so you didn't need to fasten them to anything.

@powderblast I am going to rip off your idea with a few mods, going to make something along these lines for scrunging barbed and fencing wire into 200 ltr barrels. The scrap yard here hates taking wire, this would be a good packaging solution

Just dont make the pressing pad pivot as it does not force the crap down in the bin the pivot allows it to slide of not crush it down all the leverage and sizing seems right though if you want pics with measurements let me know and i will add them on here

I bought it to do repairs to the block paving. I can only use it for the garden waste as that's the only wheelie bin we have.

It is very effective.

We have loads of bins at home - blue bin for recycling, green bin for general waste, brown bin for garden waste..well, we have a big garden with a massive beech treee which is always dropping something or other, so claimed a further 3 brown bins from the council (We have a very sexy neighbour who managed to get some extras when they were first delivered..)

Council are good here (East Riding Council) - they always take the bins (lid up or down) plus any extra bags left out with them. Decent lads too.

Our last house were a nightmare - bin slightly off square to the pavement, wouldn't take it. Bin lid up, wouldn't take it. Bin wrong way round, wouldn't take it.
Proper jobsworths.

Work bin men are ace - easily fill an 1100L bin every week with some nastys - a few times before now we have had to help it on its way up on the back of the wagon lifter thing with the fork lift. Then chuck a few pallet fulls of rubbish straight into the back for good measure.
