Which trolley jack?

Anyone contemplating buying anythiung off sgs just needs to look on ebay etc to see they are all the same item but coloured different for an inflated price, always wondered why people rave about them.

They also believe that their terms and conditions overrule the law. They found out differently when they tried it on with me.

I'll second that. Though I've not had my Halfords jack that long, probably about 4 or 5 years now. One of the things I liked about it is the casters are not cast iron, they're solid nylon, so just a tiny bit quieter when pulling it across the ground, but not much. I have to drag it up the driveway between 2 bungalows to the front of the house.

And as someone else mentioned get a trade card, if you can. I'm an HGV Driver and my job qualified me for a card.
Just had a look, it's £128 with the trade card.

That is the same one I have, been good so far but not had it that long, maybe 3 months. I don't have a trade card but it was on special for £128 when I got it.

I bought a Clarke Racing aluminium jack about 25 years ago and still in use, only 1.5 ton though but ideal for the Golf and my lad's 106. Nice and light to carry around.

Treated myself to the Snap-on 2000kg "baby" steel low entry jack. That thing is built like a brick sh1t house!, only downside is it's heavy to lug around. Snap-on list all the spare parts for their own jacks so that sealed the deal.

They have a lovely 2000kg aluminium version but I'd have to sell a kidney for that one!.

I'd like a light, low entry jack for convenience, few times I've had to cart the 3 ton one about in the back of the car hasn't been fun.
