Fixings? the builder have done a runner so I dont know which version.
but they did fix a wooden batten along the wall under it as a precautionary measure, they asked for 12mm holes so I made them 13mm, there are C shaped clips under the bolt heads that hold the strips that i fitted.
We did sit and talk this through, I was happy to leave them in charge of the installation.
I have been a cheeky monkey, the mountings will slowly fail in 18 months, I want to see the bar maid heroically catch it as it slips forwards then barfs 100 bottles of wine onto the floor. it will look great on Youtube and the sound will be amazing.

Inspired by this thread, and particularly this fruit bowl I've had a productive day..

Firstly made myself a contraption for making rings out of some bits of scrap.

Made some rings:

Stuck the rings together

Then sprayed with copper paint because it's all i had.

Hope you don't mind me pinching the idea (s)

A 3m length of 8mm bar makes 10 100mm rings. I will eventually post my contraption, it has about 5 different sized tubes that slide over each other and makes rings from about 30mm to 100mm.

Thanks. I used an old wok to get the shape consistent, it sort of worked - clamping the already made bit to the side of the wok with the earth clamp then adding some rings. Enjoyed both making the rings and the bowl, learned from this time though, working with a 6m length of bar is a bit much, will cut it in half next time.

Surely a thing like that is only limited addition of heat to the mix or even a torque multiplier?

It's a gear reduction for ratchets/breaker bars, it allows you to get more torque on bolts, without stupid long cheater bars.

Aha.. in that case the length of the bar just makes handling difficult - it's only 6mm bar so coils easily but the 6m length makes handling difficult. 2 x 3m would have been easier to coil. No heat and not that much torque needed - i actually made the handle on the winder far too long.
