^^^^^ a sink waste took from 10-5 better not give up the day job
Certainly not, I'm a Sparky not a "wet pants" it was one of those jobs that ended up with "while I'm here I might as well do....."

Looks proper good does that Jim
Good luck on the outboard hunt. What a nightmare that normally is
Tell me about it man. I had a two stroke Mercury on the back on the one I got but the stator's deed (magnet's have lost their adhesion). Ended up finding a much older Johnson with slightly less horses which is lighter than the 25HP Mercury and has a hilarious name.I’d like a nice two stroke but good ones are a bit thin on the ground in these parts at least.
I do quite like the Honda four strokes though, they look well made but Christ they seem to hold decent prices on the used market.

Shame we're not closer geographically Jim, I could see a deal and some sorely needed space in the shed otherwise
Don't want to fall foul of any rules (I'm not touting for sale but it is for sale IYSWIM). I think I even posted on here about it a while back.Talk to me...

Mercury 25HP 2S mid-nineties. Good bits: excellent compression and a brand new prop. Bad bits: case has been cracked and repaired at some point, well but messily. Does not start as magnets have detached from stator. Suspect one of the coils is maybe faulty but can't prove it.
PM me if you want, doesn't seem right doing anything on here
More of I've already bought the thing and there's no guarantee it's just the stator needing replaced. I think the coil on one cylinder is out and then I worry about the CDI. I've had Japanese 2S bikes from the same era and it brings back some unhappier memories lol. That sounds like more of a project than I was after to be fair, I’m guessing if it was an easy fix you’d have done it?
If you're looking for a decent engine north Tyne marine in Newcastle is great always very helpful and he will post them if you need it done have a look on his website but also give him a call as he doesn't really update used engines on his website muchThat sounds like more of a project than I was after to be fair, I’m guessing if it was an easy fix you’d have done it?
I can't recommend him enough I don't know what hp rating your boat has but this should be alright for itI’d like a nice two stroke but good ones are a bit thin on the ground in these parts at least.

Gave me a bit of nostalgia looking at his boats for sale. I pass there probably once a week, might have to wander in one day.
