If it flys, floats, or has sex it should be rented. I learnt the hard way with a tandem deck 17' Reiver, and a 90 yam. Was like ripping up 20 pound notes in 1985.Just leave your credit/debit card & wallet at home, we all know what can happen when we go 'just for a look'....

But if the man building the skiff wants an opinion on condition Id gladly go look and listen. As a time served marine engineer and over 40 years experience playing with boats, I have a fair idea.
I think that was a phrase Bernie Ecclestone was fond of. I think he used a slightly different word to describe the sexual act though.
Did you crack a bottle of your finest up the side and give her a name before setting sale? The tin bath had its maiden voyage today, all was well, no leaks and nothing fell off, including me so I’m calling it a success.
The outboard was loaned to me by a kindly soul as I haven’t yet scraped together the funds for my propulsion unit of choice but I soon will. Until then it went rather well with a fat bloke for ballast and only 8hp to push it up on the plane.
It struggles a little if I sit right in the stern but once on top of the water I can sit wherever I choose with no issues.

Looks like you got it on the plane quite well for such a wee outboard
What's the ride like? Looks sweet from the video but that's a nice level of chop as well
Won't track anything like a long liner either.I once had a 5mtr alloy boat to play with for a day and put my 20hp Merc on the back, with two up it went great, there is a wreck we used to fish about 3 miles out and it seemed to get there in no time, we had time for a coffee and sandwiches with my Longliner
Not something I would want to fish at anchor from though, I found any breeze moved it around a lot due to the fact they tend to sit on the water rather than in it, saying that though was still great fun and I could see the attraction and benefits from owning one.

It’s for zooming about in, not for fishing from
Just think of all those potential dinners below you though.......
Wasn't aimed at you or the boat. Also fish regularly from a fast American made Ali boat. Its considerably lighter and a lot faster than the longliner which is designed ad the name implies .It’s for zooming about in, not for fishing from
Look here for a enWell I can safely say the performance is well and truly blunted with the addition of three extra bodies in the boat, even two up it is struggling to plane but with the Mrs and two young teenagers the pace (necessarily so) was pedestrian.
I need to find me an upgrade...
If you're looking for a decent engine north Tyne marine in Newcastle is great always very helpful and he will post them if you need it done have a look on his website but also give him a call as he doesn't really update used engines on his website much
