I've stuck with 2stroke because you get fast aceliration and light weight and ease of service but beware most places have band them from pleasure use that's why I recommend that Suzuki there built proof
It's to do with the oil in the waterWhy are 2-strokes banned in places? Is it because of noise or smoke/oil pollution?
Couldn't be any worse than a Seagull
Nowt wrong with a seagull they always work when inspected just not when neededCouldn't be any worse than a Seagull
If there the jabsco type rubber impellors change them yearly regardless. For what they cost, not worth the risk as they hardenWe have Tohatsu 2strokes on the work boats at both my club waters. Good engines. Only thing that's ever gone wrong is the impeller packed up and engine overheated, and seized. Cost about £250 to put right.
Turns out the thing had never been serviced by the club! Got both done and they've been faultless since.
No idea mate we took them to the local Tohatsu dealer. Im no longer involved in running the club just an member now.If there the jabsco type rubber impellors change them yearly regardless. For what they cost, not worth the risk as they harden
Nice Jim
You leaving it all unpainted then?
Nice job, prefer the look with out the screen. The angular screen give it the fletcher arroflyte look!
And there goes the fact that any boat where you get wet is just too small. I understand the need for a screen of somesort. Though in rough water, hope its strong enough. When I was younger and dafter than I am now, used to mess about with power boats, a friend had a mishap with his drove the nose thought a wave taking the screen right off, boat was full to the gunwales, but with bouyancy tanks and foam in the floor it stayed afloat.I’d love to leave it without a screen too but it really needs one. It’s quite a wet ride if it’s choppy and you are fighting a breeze off the port or starboard quarter. It picks up the spray and throws it right in your face. Also the itchen/solent is quite a busy and narrow stretch of water with some very large commercial and cruise shipping as well as regular high and low speed ferries churning it up so it gets a bit hairy negotiating their wakes. I’ve had a few waves break over the bow and with no screen to deflect them they end up in your lap.
Plus the boat goes 30mph, can get a bit chilly in the evening without something to hide behind.
