Almost ready to start the 131, a little more workshop cleaning and will start preparing for epoxy. The estate is also finished welding.

There was a wee bit of surface rust on the front and rear screen apertures and front floor sections so spot blasted the worst of it and sprayed on some zinc spray to stop any rust forming. Will brush on some epoxy primer to the apertures when I stripe coat and prime any areas I won’t get to when spraying the underside. Hopefully ready to epoxy prime and raptor the underside in a couple of weeks time.

Sanding the underside today, will finish it by going over it all again with a scotch pad before paint.

Got the epoxy primer on today, Raptor Stonechip next.

Raptor down and decided with topcoat it. Think it will look better and was recommended by a painter.

Started prepping the engine bay for paint. Hopefully get the engine bay and boot prepped tomorrow and primer and paint on Sunday. Going to wet on wet and if topcoat is too orange peely will flat it and give it another coat.

Very nice work area and love that rotisarre !

The RX8 in the pic underside was all cleaned and painted crawling underneath with all the ****e falling directly on you real character building but it never went bare shell like this just the underside with axles , tanks , dropped etc.

Yeah been there too and it’s a horrible job. Being able to turn the car makes a huge difference to the ease of the job.

Jotamastic 80 WG and 24hrs but that's just how it worked out. Main thing is get it on before epoxy is cured and after the epoxy has flashed off nicely. So anywhere from 1hr to a few days should be good. I have good heating in the workshop so coatings dry well.

Turned out nae too bad, couple of wee runs for that 60s authenticity. ;-) Will need to decide if I flat the engine bay areas or leave as is. Certainly got better coverage than originally done from the factory.
