There is a video of a new exact same model ABAC Tandem compressor on you tube and it cuts out at 135psi:



Hence I went for just below that at 130psi on mine

But point taken I can always lower it if I wish.

If you watch a compressor filling it will get up to around 100psi quite quickly but the filling slows down as the pressure builds, getting to 150 psi takes ages. If you listen to the motor it starts to work hard trying to pack in those last few psi, getting quite warm in the process. It also gets the pump quite warm.

I can turn it down a little to 125 psi if that is consensus.

It does build pressure pretty quickly and steady up to 13p psi doesn't seem to straddle much but I agree it would be working harder in those conditions.

Measure the motor current, that will tell you if the pressure is too high. I would guess that 135psi is fine.

Update - I did get around to fitting the new sump pan seal to the right pump. Cleaned it all with brake cleaner, refilled with oil and left it on cardboard all day and not a single drip or stain so I was able to re install that pump.



I was putting on the final part, the left belt cover and it wouldn't fit. Turns out the replacement motor has just slightly different geometry so I have ordered another belt a couple inches longer will solve the issue. I recall that motor was installed crooked when I bought it. That was why!

This one is now all back together and done.



The longer belt arrived in post today and allowed for perfect alignment of the belt cover once more. That was a much better option than starting to cut or alter the belt guards.

I adjusted the charge / cut off pressure at 130 psi also. (Down a little from 135)

I note that there is no delay start between the motors now that both are fully operational. Therefore someone has been in there before adjusting at the control panel to zero delay. So I'll adjust that to allow for say 3 or 4 seconds between the motors starting up.

Those look like supermarket trolley castors, just unscrew the threaded bit and put a bolt in.

They were trolley casters that came on it yes.

And per the more recent posts above the compressor is now mounted within a steel cradle up in my garage loft.
