Is it not the same as the diagram you posted up the thread then?

That is the diagram from the XTT manual and when they say Foot I suspect it may be for a different pedal, maybe an older one. The torch insert with the pot connects that way but from they way @Gizmo.Y was describing things then it sounds like it may be different on his pedal. Suppose we will just have to wait for some info from him/Parweld.

Can you also get info on the pedal wiring?
If it turns out that the pedal is doing what it's supposed too and that's just how they are it would be nice to know if a single pot pedal would go on and work.
The amps on mine don't adjust either when the pedal is plugged in but I don't need to press it to adjust it I just un plug it and pre set it then plug it in. Once mine recognises the pot is connected it defaults to your pre set minimum amps. To set the max amps you need to unplug it. Bit annoying but not something I can't live with. At least I don't have to make it live.

I agree, a tad annoying and not something i've heard of before.

i called parweld first thing this morning, awaiting a call from their technical dept.

Then only 5 are used.
It's Conventional pedal wiring then. No circuit boards or fancy can things. That's good. The software to make the pedal do the fancy things hood describes like going up in 10 amp increments etc must come from the machine only in which case if you were to use another pedal it would still do this.

"The XTT202 has automatic up and down slope along with final current that which can be pre-set on the machine when using 4T trigger mode and a hand switch on the torch. The Parweld torch normally supplied with the machine has 2 additional buttons that allow you to wind the current up and down while welding a bit like a TV remote control for volume. You can also step the current down if you wish to the final current if things are getting a little hot by tapping the main power button briefly and then tapping again to bring it back up. Having the torch mounted control allows you to weld in positions where keeping a foot on a pedal would be difficult. If you use a foot control then you put the machine into a manual control mode when welding so the slope up and down are controlled manually through the foot control as detailed below.

Use the trimmer on the side of the foot control to limit the maximum current.

To start welding press the foot control until the pre-gas and HF start. allow the arc to establish and then increase the current by depressing the pedal until you reach the required level.
To stop welding remove pressure on the pedal and the amps will reduce until the trigger is operated which will switch off the arc.
Parweld have just introduced a pro series foot control that works with the machine it does not have the side trimmer, but is a more professional foot control with a smoother action."

I've only just been told about the new pedal.. i'm going to do some digging into it.

well, this is annoying, all of the features i want to use are not compatible with the pedal...No mention of having to activate the HF in order to adjust the trim on the pedal though..

If you unplug the pedal does it allow you to set the pedal current on the machine? Then when you plug the pedal back in is your max current set? Try this.
Set the pot on the pedal to max.
Unplug the pedal so the amps are displayed on the screen.
Set 100 amps on the screen.
Plug pedal back in and floor it.
Does it give you 100 amps. If so then it works a bit like mine and you don't need to activate it to adjust it you just unplug it.

Tried that Richard. Un-plugged Pedal, Set to 80 amps in DC. Rotated knob to "Max" on the pedal, THEN Plugged it back in and is now set to 200 amps...But i still have to press the pedal down to see what max amperage is.

But have you floored it giz. Is it giving you 80 or 200.
Don't worry about what the display is saying as you know it's 80 amps, you pre set it.
What I'm asking is ...... is there a way of pre setting your pedal current without having to press it.

There is Zero way to set the pedal current without pressing it and activating HF with the pedal plugged in- Or at least i do not know of. But theres not a button i have no pressed.

Giz. Have you actually floored the pedal with 80 amps pre set. It might read 200 but what does it give you

Mine doesn't allow you to change or see the current either unless you press it. But if I unplug it and pre set it on the dial then that is my max amps set. Once I plug it back in it reads 3 amps or what ever I set the minimum at. Yours might read the max who knows but when I floor it I'll only get what I pre set it at when it was unplugged. Yours might be the same so it's my suggestion you try.

If i Pre-Set the pedal to 80 amps, then i get 80 amps. But you can only set the amperage when the pedal is pressed and HF is activated. Meaning the torch is live and wasting gas.

My Issue is not being able to control this from the panel and the fact the knob is easily knocked which changes the amperage, which you cannot see until the pedal is pressed and displayed on the panel. With Pulse turned on, you can set the lowerage amperage on the panel, but not the maximum.

If you pre set it with the pedal unplugged then plug it back in what do you get. Ignore the display. What does it put out.
