The government have, to all intents mandated a solution (lithium batteries). And in doing so, made it pretty much impossible to invest in anything else.
Governments record of "backing a horse" are woeful to put it mildly.
What they should have done is mandated an outcome and let the market come up with solutions.
Sadly too late now. We are "all in" on batteries and will, in due course, suffer the consequences of that ridiculous "backing of one horse".
That is a very valid point.
