To me, the defender would be an ideal vehicle. If you could get the weight distribution right then there is scope for a variety of battery packages to suit different ranges. I guess they will be limited by overall weight though. BUT.. prices need to be a lot lower to be a mainstream thing.I'm going to get proper quotes, those numbers came up on t'internet but could be wrong. I shall share pricing when I get them.
They are probably wrong as some farmer mentioned he saved 6k a year on fuel and payback was less than 4 years. So that would indicate less than 24k.
I quite like the idea of an electric Defender pickup as my daily pootering vehicle in retirement. The thing that puts me off is their predilection to bring stolen. But I do have a tracker on the Ranger that I can transfer.
