I have enjoyed it for 35 years! yikes... time flys, yes I want to spent as litte as possible on it TBH, it dont get used much but would be nice to have a sight that stays put
I had a Theoben eliminator , and it ate scopes , even with their rubber shock mount system ,, but second hand scopes are humble money , if you know anyone whos upgraded an old 8x 40 or the likes they will often price for it at humble money ,,, bung three mounts on it , and your flying.
the eliminator is a fac break barrel ,, it used to break cross hairs on traditional scopes , or break the glass on modern scopes that the reticle was etched into , in the end I went to using an old Pecar 8-12 x 40 they have an interchangeable reticle system [ second plane reticle] ,, so just bought a couple of scrap scopes and used the reticles ,,, it worked not the cheapest option , but it worked , the eliminator was a stop gap until i got my Whiscome built recoilless double piston quad spring set up ,, ,, its since been traded in for a Ripley pcp ,, no scope problems since ,, [ id not recommend an eliminator to anyone , even with some pressure out of the gas ram they are a pita to own.]
yep but a more modern set of mounts would get a better grip ,, some sportsmatch or the likes and even a cheap 1 inch barrel scope would mean you had an upgrade path if the scope dies ,, thirty quid will get you a scope ,,, granted it would only be second hand ,,, but it would do ,, go for a one piece and it will do your job.
well thats calling a spade a firkin shovel ,,,buy a decent mount that looks krap
If you’re buying scopes at humble money, you’re either buying the wrong ones or need to put the lottery on. I’d cry if my leupold or swarovski broke
you dont put quality glass on a Baikal air rifle ,, lots of folk over scope ,,, ive Hawkes that were humble money from folk who upgraded to things the size of car headlights with mounts so high you need a ladder to look through them ,,, but they still work fine for plinking.

I’d not do you the disservice of taking it mate, until I get sorted and sort out the little bsa rimmy I’d have no use for it and I’d imagine someone else would be better off taking it
