Spencer, I reckon I could do the tailstock for you. It'd give me a chance to try out my taper turning attachment.

The taper is worn . So plan is to machine it out to mt2. There's a couple of things that can be done with it.

Today's task was to carry on cleaning and sorting shaper parts.. Just another box of bits to go..

Slowly but surely pressing on.

Almost done all the parts.all on the bench now.

Just got to install the bearings on the large flywheel . Clean up the insides of the shaper.
Have a new gear coming so I can repair the broken one.
And need to get the main bull gear repaired . If any of you chaps have a mill and are board.

It's had a lick of paint....what more do ya want lol. In this case paint removed and bare parts oiled. Hopefully with in the next couple of months should be running. Yer been a long time.

All my parts are ready for installation .All most.
I was going to give the insides just a clean up but it's so messy. I just couldn't leave it like that. So currently got the body apart dreary for a complete paint removal.

Today I got the shaper case out for paint removal.
Just a heads up guys I got this degreaser for tool station. Didn't think it would be to good. But this stuff took the paint right off inside the case. £8 toolstation. Will be getting more of this stuff.

As for colour. Hmmmm. My first initial plan was to paint inside the case and leave the outside as I like the bare cast look. Like the parts in picture.

Coat them in linseed oil. Bare appearance with protection, once it cures, and easily reapplied if needed.

That's my plan. Paint inside. Red oxide. And bare metal outside. I use way oil on outside only because it's all I got . But will get some linseed oil.
