My 20v one is also very smooth. Can’t fault it other than it could have done with a better quality switch

I agree the switch isn’t the best
Used mine yesterday, just cut a scrap bit of metal to see what it was like. It’s perfectly adequate, didn’t notice any bad vibrations.
I had the 40v loaded up eating VW underseal with a knot wheel last night and it was more than adequate. Amazing really.
Technically 2.5 ah batteries running at 40v but they last a days worth of messing about for me.
Best value for money power tool I've bought for a long time. Up there with my Parkside 20v Multitool that refuses to die even after some serious abuse, can't fault it!.

That price is just nuts.... for anyone who already has the Ferrex 20v/40v battery & charger, it's a gift.

Had a look at the link above, how does the linked battery work 20v/40v then it has 2.5ah/5ah?
Also had a look at the star ratings, usually go straight to 1 star to see what's really wrong. A few idiots gave it a 1 star for not being able to try cause no battery another 1 star because the battery only lasted 20mins! FFS that's the best 5 star rating I've seen for a battery grinder, what are they expecting, nuclear power output without the cable?
Anyhow will parkside batteries fit or is there an adapter to make them fit before I blow another £10? or two.

The Parkside stuff is 20V. A 20V parkside battery will not run a 40V grinder, Ferrex or any other make.
There are aftermarket adapters to put a 20V Parkside battery on a 20V Ferrex tool. You either buy, or 3D print your own. For example:

You could make an adapter to put a 20/40V Ferrex battery on a 20V tool.

I went on a spending spree when they came out. Drill, impact, grinder, recip, possibly more, several batteries and a charger
Massive letdown, even allowing for the price. Was hoping to have a kit in the small van so didn't need to keep swapping tools. I expect a lot from my gear but if the drill can't drill a 25mm hole in a joist with a brand new bit then it's pointless

I have had,used and abused this 20/40v aldi gear for a few years now, not had any issues with it. Just ordered four more of those grinders, got loads of the batteries so may as well have them at hand with a variety of discs,. Got a full set of this gear in the van and grabbed a load more for the mancave extension.

Thats useful, I have a 18v draper/sealey grease gun that needs converting to a more affordable battery . I will try and get a ferrex 20/40 battery mounted on that
