IF anybody has a battery that's 'gone bad' - take it apart. There are two fusible links under the cover. popped one doing something daft and managed to bridge it with an automotive blade fuse.

But I did get two Drill bodies for 15 quid a piece.

I bought two just to have, it would be rude not to have bought them

I went on a spending spree when they came out. Drill, impact, grinder, recip, possibly more, several batteries and a charger

Massive letdown, even allowing for the price. Was hoping to have a kit in the small van so didn't need to keep swapping tools. I expect a lot from my gear but if the drill can't drill a 25mm hole in a joist with a brand new bit then it's pointless

Ferrex or Lidl. I have ferrex and they are fine. I dont use them for work just DIY but some is heavy duty My son has dewalt gear for work so its horses for course but. I would not expect a cordless drill to do many 25mm holes with a bit. Perhaps its my level of expectation but I realise business use needs speed and power.

Thats useful, I have a 18v draper/sealey grease gun that needs converting to a more affordable battery . I will try and get a ferrex 20/40 battery mounted on that

I started working with @Onoff with ferrex and bosch I think it was but we both diverted to other things and life took over lol

I have a load of Ferrex stuff from chainsaws to Grinders and drills but a few Bosch and Stanley fatmax units that I would like to make use of my ferrex batteries but I have bigger priorities at the moment.

I did end up spending £2k (ish) on Makita shortly after, replaced the majority of my 18v kit. Ended up selling the van so the need for duplicates went.

I use my Makita 18v drill with a 127mm hole saw
