Cracking work Rick.
Have you got a bespoke tool for bevelling the edges after the tube sched pipe is cut?
Congratulations, you just got the job to make a new manifold for my Evo !! Mates rates of course
Of course, my mates rates are RRP, RRP plus 10% if they want to watch, and RRP plus 20% if they want to help What Evo do you have out of interest, we have some manifolds on the shelf, i'm probably going to trade on MLR next year and shift a few of them at a reduced cost.
I have a 6. Good luck on the MLR, it's a bit of a madhouse !!
Haha, i know exactly who you'r talking about, infact, i'm going to search him now to see what happened to him in the end.
Not welding but something I've been playing around with today while I'm "off"
Yes if its a race car we'll use inconel. Normally stick to thick wall stainless for road going cars though.
So Rick, What pipe do you use? By thick wall you dont meen 1.5mm do you!
Im a little confused as they dont look like mandrel bends eigther.
Phil
How's it differ from off the shelf sch40 elbows then? Diameter/bore? Given the wall thickness i'm guessing it's still 304 or 316?
It's thick wall stainless steel, its over 3mm in thickness, its a custom stainless we get made for our manifolds now.
So why not 1.5mm 304 mandrel bends and tube?
