Another shed build

We did debate whether to fill the pallet walls with some sort of insulation like polystyrene packing beads or even gun foam but it never happened.

Without a doubt the way @Olderisbetter has gone with Celotex is the way to go for most builds. I'll be hopefully doing similar when I do a passive esque 30m2 garden room. Saying that a lot of passive self builders I know go for blown cellulose because of the better decrement delay. Chap I know near Canterbury only uses about 1.2kW a day for space heating the entire house. Mind his walls are 400mm thick filled with Icynene. Expanding foam that comes on a truck with two bfo tanks.

I once use those polystyrene beads as insulation for an outside tap feed in a shed, boxed in, unfortunately the pipe leaked, and the beads went all slimey.

The window and cill turned up this morning so after dinner i fitted them and it was nice to shut the door and feel no draughts and the noise level dropped, Still need to sort the paint out and guttering then i can work on the insides at my leisure.

Thats the plan and i can work late as no one can hear me in there at night so maybe it will give me more options.

I made a HUGE mistake in firstly accepting then rebuilding my brothers old shed. FFS I've land to have built one 4 x the size where this one is! I just got carried away.

The hours I put into it! Dug out, laid a slab, built a dwarf wall to raise the shed higher and made a new stable door from scrap. End result is just too small for my needs.

They came from a chimney stack I took down on our first house, built in 1865.

Lol i have a few of those i programmed to switch alarms and lights on round the yard, When i do all the wiring again i am going to use one of those wifi modules that you can control from a phone app and i visited a guy who had all his doors controlled by RFID and that looked fun.

That first shed in thd Flickr link is 8x12.

It gets worse...I then went and got a 10x12 pent roof one for nothing, my bro's late FiL's shed. Brass maker's plate on it and the 4 sides bolt together with 3 coach bolts per corner.

That's lying under a tarp. Will probably rebuild for my 90 year old FiL who's always wanted a shed but his missus always stopped him.

im the lucky one as i have mostly all red brick shed most of it is original as cant do much with a front shed cost us enough already



theives damaged the right side wall so much it had to be rebuilt ive done it but really strengthened the wall up alot

Round by me they would have dug under that shed added a basement and added a 2nd floor on and had it for sale as a trendy glam pad..
