Anyone with a working gun dog?

I have 2 working cockers bothw fed raw meat mostly on big bags of chicken pieces from tesco or sainsburys sometines add road kill dear thats no good for human consumption
Tripe big bags of cheap fatty mince raw eggs
Lambs liver and kidneys on occasions
Alsorts really they get one meal a day in the evening and are fine in the beating line will work hard all day and will pickup a few which is alot for my bitch as she is an exceptionally small dog
One thing to look out for regardless of what you feed is make sure it doesnt contain grains or beat these are the components that cause problems for dogs also check some of the wet buiscuits use formaldehyde to stop them decomposing
This is one of the reasons i feed it that and just how enjoyable it is throwing chicken legs to a dog and watching them crunch through

Does sound better. I do know someone with an abitour (spelt wrong) and a string of butchers so need to drop the hint to buy off him if possible.

Take great care over roadkill deer its not unknown for a vet to give imbolon to carry one off to peace. It's very toxic to humans and dogs. There was a case a few years back but luckily the guy boiled the venison which although unusual works to pasify it effects remaining in the flesh.
Personally if I didn't kill it I leave it

Oh i wouldnt do it if me or a friend hadnt hit it or seen it hit fortunately there is a real problem with dear round here so its fairly common usually keep a heavy object in the truck to finish them off as there are alot of people who just sit there not knowing what to do

Becareful lifting road kill. It can be classed as theft

Very true it belongs to the landowner of the land it died on (unless the deer rights are sold on /rented). So roadkill mostly means county council.
