Can somebody please post a clear photo of the speed plate. Mine is missing. I have managed to get half the info from brads videos. I have mine running now just need cutters to give it a test run

Thanks Brad I have mine running now couple of the speeds are a bit noisy (worn gears ) but still works fine and oil pump is working so ready to work when needed.

Does anyone have the main lubrication plate/chart intact on their vertical 18" Archdale or know the correct modern oil equivalents? I'm after the correct oil grades to help a fellow owner with some maintenance.

Just looking at ordering a DRO from Allendale for this mill.

Gonna be tricky to mount some of the scales but i think i've got it sussed out.

Mdro don't sell an optical scale any more, all magnetic now unless by special order

I've heard terrible things about newall recently both here and in the states.

My Acu-Rite on the big lathe is spot on.

I have an Easson DRO on my Archdale, from M-DRO. Got the LCD console which gives graphics for PCDs and radius generation. Very very user friendly.
As to earlier question on oil, I'm using ISO88 slideway oil in the main wickfeed oiling stations (if you haven't cleaned these and replaced the wicks then you will need to) and ISO32 as spindle oil in the dripfeed oiler.
On these machines it is ESSENTIAL that they are perfectly level, otherwise oil from the big oil pot behind the back of the table won't reach the oilways for the front of the table.

Worth pointing out that The dripfeed is not for the spindle bearings it's just to lubricate the spindle in the housing.
