He bought it to use as a cattle tug, apparently Merc parts are cheaper than Fastrac bits...

Mogs spares are a horrendous price, everything mechanical seems to be north of £1000. Overrated bits of kit that are mind numbingly awkward to work on, I think for what @Wendelspanswick expects of the truck he will be better of with one of the ex army 4X4`s.

The Unimogs I've been involved with ... thats just two! and by the time I've been involved with them they have already had a lifetime.... have all needed to carry a jerry can of fuel, a 25l can of hydraulic oil, a 25l can of gear oil and a bucket of sand for when its parked.

I can't help but like them but I've better ways to use my money as it would only be a toy for me.

Very little room on the back of the Mogs Dave , I think the rear tray is about 2mts square. Only any use really with a chip box and a pto chipper on the back.

6 pot OM 352 Merc truck engine @mechman , 352 as in cu/inch so about 5.7 ltr. Same engine used in the older smaller U900 and 406 mogs which were a better less complicated bare bones Mog.

They're nice, but as noted merc spares dept charges like a wounded rhino; most of the functionality can be had from a Fastrac or just a large 4x4 tractor.
