I tried the opposite without success , the sad thing is that I struggle to weld with Esab 48.00 descending, they allow it apparently but it may not be a common use.
It is much easier with 6013 anyway. What a waste!
It was interesting to try to follow the stairs with rod angle anyway, but result particularly ugly!
Hello, I struggled again to see something with the lcd mask, even at 9, then I switched to the n11 mask, fixed shade (but with an air filtration unit)
and yes I did see more (chalk line for instance) with that glass.
Btw , I wanted to ask : when one line beads one along the other (recovering by half), is it possible to take care of the slag only after 2 or 3 beads ?
cut and etch : what is the best tool I could buy that would help me to cut and etch but of couse can serve me well for cutting tubes ...
I used a cutting disk then an angle grinder, but I was said it harden some thickness and that is better to file one mm with a grinding wheel under water, for instance.
it was long to obtain enough contrast I did use the angle grinder twice, first time I did not see very well. (5% Nital)
Thanks
Vert up in angle (3f),testing triangles ladder, small rods.
I promise I will do better next time ! (the metal have been much heated, could it be that it is now heat sensitive - large undercut) ?
I will order Aulektro gold plated glass, but have no idea if it will be blue, green or green blue . Those glass are sold about 8 euros for 90x105mm size . May be I should buy one n°9,10 ,11 ,(but I think 10 is what suits me for stick anyway up to 3.2mm steel - as I need to weld iron and inox may be I will have the use of a n11 What do you think ?
WHan I will be a really seasoned welder I will buy me a high quality LCD , may be to upgrade my 3M690 ...
Here a triangle progression with 6013 -lots of inclusions
unexpected
Something wrong with the triangle motion . I think one may stop only in the angle, then fill quickly from left to right just under, but the rythm may be precise to avoid inclusions
Hard to say but maybe your current is a bit low and also your motion not smooth enough? I find a nice steady movement works well rather than quick jerky movement.
I think really you need to focus your arc into the root more, don't worry about any triangle or weaving motion for your root pass. Just fire her straight in!
The majority opinion seem to be that those beads design is not interesting at that point, thank you I will keep that in mind and pursue with more accessible ways
