BOC and Volkszone - Gas Offer

mine is collected from the local boc place and paid in cash over conter, then returned i now have to use an agent instead as the local boc place closed down

refused to except cash over counter, advised to pay over phone and order instead

i never phoned up to order a bottle just went into place and changed the bottle when needed, but from the last call its looking like i might have to phone first before i can collect from local agent or go further a field and collect from a boc yard instead

Who do you email to get an account

you email the account form back to boc after they send you one via your email address

you can phone them but you still need to fill that account form with boc

I've recieved my rental invoice a couple of days ago, it looks like Im being charged £45 + vat for both argoshield light and pureshield. last year the argoshield light was £42.41 + vat and the pureshield was £61.28 + vat.

looks like they may have standardised on the cylinder rental (Y size). anyone else have the same charges which is now a saving of £16.43 (inc vat) for this year if getting both

I signed up to the BOC Hobby deal, Shelley was really helpful and responsive to emails and the account and DD is all setup and ready to go. When I initially logged in to the BOC website it was displaying diffeerent prices to what was initially given to me by Shelley but a quick email to her sorted that out.

I now want to buy Pure Argon and Argoshield Uni and doing this online only gives me the option for them to deliver and includes a handling charge plus I the website cant count

i just put it behind the drivers and passenger seats as i dont agree of them being in the boot as ive seen tools come from back of the boot to front of car before now low down behind the seats best place for them

I just stick it in the boot of the car and go to the depot and swop it out. Cylinder fill charge is then added to my account, no cash involved.

You only pay rental if you have a cylinder and the account doesn't close if you have no cylinders. For the hobby deals you need to phone and order a cylinder for collection to get the discount, if you just turn up and collect you will pay full price plus all the collection fees and other charges

You do not need to pre order just turn up HOWEVER Do not pay for your gas at the agent ! Get it charged onto your account. Agents will charge full price plus handling charge.

You need to arrange the Hobby/Volkzone deal before collecting a cylinder or the full amount and collection fees are charged, I was asked what depot I would like to collect from. I had both Argoshield Light and Pureshield Argon prior to the deal and I had to return both cylinders for exchange to cancel the rental before I could get the discount rental.

Yes, for refills once you are paying rental. You have to apply for the hobby deal (i.e. order a cylinder) or you will pay full price.

Is Argoshield Universal on the deal? I thought it was only for Argoshield Light.

Appears so, I specifically asked when I spoke to Shelley in BOC

You can also get CO2, Acetylene, Oxygen as well but not Argoshield Heavy

Just to confirm what I already new. I rang BOC today. There is no need to inform BOC when going for a refill on the Volkszone deal. Just go to ANY BOC AGENT and get your refill put on your account. Also If on VolksZone deal for say Y size Argoshied and you also need a Y bottle of say pure argon. There is no need to inform BOC about putting a second bottle on your account. You just go to the agent and get second bottle added to your account. AS I said DO NOT PAY THE AGENT !
