Is that literally floating when they load it up or does it have little legs on it, just in case?
I worked on this one 2 years back, it's a semi submersible DP rig, means it stays in position just on it's own thrusters and when they do really heavy lifts they submerge it about 20 mtrs or so in the water. In the picture it floated all the way up, it submerges till where the red paint changes to the black paint when doing heavy lifts.
Was built in the 80's, in the cabins there are stickers on the wall that say 'contains asbestos, do not touch' , food was horrendous even though it's an Italian vessel, even the pizza was crap! Has a maximum personnel capacity of 700 and costs between 500.000 and 1.000.000 a day according to the marine crew i spoke to.
They have a 100 tonnes crawler crane on deck for the 'small' stuff, quite impressive to see it all, have 2 cnc plasma tables on deck and about 50 welders per shift going non stop welding all kinds of grillages, caissons,...
