British Army/Nato tank overalls are nice quilted ones, too. Haven't been able to track down a sensible priced pair over here for a while.

I had a German tank overall with a marvellous removeable kind of tufty lining - it was like sheepskin, but finer. Warm as toast on the bike, with nothing on but it.

No, you have it wrong. The tank suit covered everything. It was just like a posh set of overalls.

The best bit was the natty little pistol holster built into the left armpit - seriously.

Yeah when you buy army surplus clothing you're not buying clothing per se, but a series of pockets and pouches all sewn together!
