The side project needs a hole in the plasterboard, and I'm starting to see the difficulties that the project will have.

Not least it's that there is only one wooden half round between in the area I've removed plasterboard from....

More bends, nearly finished with them, thank the stars.

And a bit of making space for packaging transformers, connectors and WiFi switches.

Might make the aperture bigger if needs be. I've also got to play with the DC voltage cabling, remove about 50' of surplus.

How, in the name of all that's decent and well designed, the devil is one to fit this?

With the wires in place there's no space to close the casing.

And the cover doesn't locate positively on the box.

What a bollix of a design.

I wonder if a euro face will fit over the whole thing ..

Yeah sunk into a 47mm backbox!

It's probably not meant for a metalclad box.
I had similar when fitting a Honeywell receiver near the boiler. I had to double-deck a couple of boxes.

I don't envy you pulling that T&E round the conduit bends, horrible job. I'd have done that in singles, much more flexible. Looking great though

For sure, not meant for metal clad, but I honestly don't think it either with with a standard deep box either. It's supposed to pivot onto some Euro pattress or something.

I've bought a blank metal clad face plate and will further bodge the thing. It will be a miracle if this under floor heating works and stays working.

Not fun, but the right way to do it. Nearly finished, I'm not sure what my time is like next few days, but would be nice to finish this month. Not likely, but nice.

I've been thinking about the stove, and the flue. I'm reluctant to cut the roof, avoiding leaks and all that, but it would be easy.

It would also keep the walls clean, and be cheaper.

Are these EDPM flashing kits that you glue and stitch to the roof any good? It will be a narrow twin wall pipe.

I'm putting a log burner in an office I'm making in an outbuilding. Will be going through the wall and up for this reason.

i went through the roof last time but on the new roof i didnt want it to go through the roof and because its a rocket stove its output is much lower than a normal stove

which also means i can use galvanised tubing instead the only part thats lost its galvanised coating on the top is that diagonal part
