I’ve done a couple of these,I’d always use a chain hoist ,much lower geared than a ratchet strap.
Your passion shows.
I just did the steelwork on these as the customer could do the rest.
The lifting frame allows him to re site it occasionally.

is that a customers lifting/moving design or yours

@nickk tidy work, good to see I'm not the only nutter out there. I wish I had a forks and the access to use one! I'm moving the wagon using a combination of jacks and levers. Slow and hard work.

Telehandlers/skid steers aren't dear to hire for the effort they save.

It's the access, and the ground. There's only a 4 foot+ gap to get at the patio, plus the ground is quite soft, canal side.

i reckon about half a ton with wood and its structure

nice design if just a light weight structure no wood just a metal skin but the sides are wooded

just next time suport closer to the middle bars as your design is poor, as dosnt support well enough under those middle points and i hope you had a disclamer not to use it as a floor unless support was used

@8ob is supposed to be driving down in his truck next week. I'm sure with some grub on offer he might be willing to quickly stop off and lift it into place.

The HIAB on his truck is a monster and I seriously think he could do it from the road without having to go into the garden

I agree. It's done. No damage, bar a couple of hours relaying slabs. No point in getting stressed about it. I did offer a sleeper, but they declined.

The ground under the slabs just compressed. No pipes, just poor ground. Clay, beside a canal.

Nothing exciting to report. Just paint removal, using the dronco coarse fleece, a new thing to me. Brilliant tool, should have tried it earlier. More ordered.

Another dull day, with rain. I've started on the other side, but not got terribly far.

Eventually, it stoped raining.

More rust removal.

All the flaking paint has been stripped, ditto the crusty rust. Tomorrow I'll scrub the lot and treat the remaining rust. Which means it's nearly paint time!!
