Great thread, cracking workmanship - well done. I don't know much about these vehicles, is this the hot one that copper got caught 'testing' at 130mph or whatever

As octo007200 said pretty sure that was a Lotus Carlton, Id love one of those but out of my price range, the gearbox is also horrible and the clutch is heavy, really really heavy so I wouldn't want to drive one far in stop start traffic

So this bit in the floor needs patching, it curves up both ends and has a flange to fix onto the inner sill, ive cut it out further back now

Ive not got a shrinker/stretcher which would be ideal so we will have to make do with some MDF tooling

Insert metal and clamp

A bit of bashing and tidying up gets me quite a good panel!
By the time the sound deadening and carpet is on top it'll be perfect

Decent donor body cuts picked apart and installed properly, well thought out and executed repair sections crafted where needed, this is the way that cars should be restored.

@Blobber this is excellent stuff and really needs to be written up and shared in a magazine, I am out of touch with the titles now, but it would be a great feature.

How do you form the wooden shapes so well/accurately? The pictures make it look like 5 mins work but I guess its a fairly time consuming job. I have an earlier Vauxhall (Magnum) that's in a similar state. Not awful, not wonderful so will need fettling like this. This is inspiring me to get on with it. I just need to rechassis my 110 first!

I think thats the key getting back to factory seams/joints and if you have to make anything keep it smallish and manageable with the tools/equipment you have to hand

I think printed media seems to be on the way out, unless its an MG/Morris/Ford or some random Jap motor the magazines dont seem to interested, from what ive seen/heard Kelsey seem to be destroying most mags they lay their hands on?
This seems to be a well used forum with lots of different interesting projects so hopefully it will continue for a long time!

It doesn't take that long to make the shapes really, I just use any old scrap timber mainly MDF from old kitchens which seems harder than just plain MDF, lumps of old hardwood is good as well
Try and make a little panel, you wont loose anything except time!
At least you can buy everything for the 110 and not have to make it!

A it of paint before it flash rusts now the damp weather is here
Its a bit low on the join where it makes the big curve up and I cant get to the back to knock it up but I can live with that
