No I haven;t seen that done.
I would of thought tig would be too small a heat source to be economical. Its not a particularly fast process even with a 6mm rope and SuperJet B nozzle
It is a bit quicker with TIG but you will need to dress your tungsten a bit more regularly. You don't need high amps - I forgot you had the Technogenia wire, looks to be 4.0mm so probably start around 80A. With Acetylene prices being what they are I see a good cost saving using a small inverter TIG so never use oxy-acetylene at all now. Try it, I think you will be impressed with both the speed of application and the finish.
My challenge this week - repurposing of a decanter scroll, currently prepping the barrel surface. I removed the vanes before Christmas, new flights in, should be all done by end of next week, all going to plan. The flights will have 30mm x 1.5mm Wc coating by Superjet on leading faces, tips will be done with 5mm 7888T wire rope.
It is (was?) available in both but the spherical was limited diameters. Can't remember which off the top of my head, I think 6.0mm was one.

I have acquired the full Microflo process handbook / manual which I will be scanning in soon for everyone.
I don't know if mods can see but do we get many outside/guest users looking at this thread?

Hey everyone,
I have recently bought RotoTec and Microflo model B, they both came with a selection of powders like most secondhabd units. I now have Durotec 19910, Bronzochrome 10185, Verotec 19222 (this one has been crossed out and hand written rubbish on, but is almost full so I'll see what happens on some scrap), Chromtec 19222, Ultrabond 25000, Ultrabond 35000, Xuper Ultrabond 50000 and LOTS (like more than 5kg) of an older mystery powder by a French company called Ets Chpolansky. I believe the number on the bottle referencing the type is 19476 but I'm very unsure, one of them had hand written Tellite (this might be Stellite which I believe is now a Kennametal spray powder range). I've attach a pic encase anyone has ever seen this before or has any idea what it might be. I have quite a lot of it so I'm interested in exactly what it is. Hopefully some one in Europe might have seen this before but I have never even herd of the company in NZ until I bought these.
While I am reasonably proficient with an OA torch for brazing and welding (and cutting/heating) I haven't used a spray torch before. I've watched a lot of youtube videos and read a lot about the process but I'd be keen on any feed back about which of the powders to start with to learn the process. I plan on trying to get my hand in on both torches for wear build up of parts etc but I also have some slightly more artistic ideas too (at least for the powders I haven't had to pay retail for). I was also wondering if any of the powders actually look bronze in colour once they are laid down or if they are all to high in nickel or chrome to have a bronze colour.
One last thing, the Rototec came in the box and still has about 80% of the inside cover viewable, I'm happy to take some high res pics and upload them here if anyone is interested. Also the guy who I bought the Microflo couldn't find the original manual but is going to send it to me if/when he finds it so I can scan and upload it to if it ever makes it to me.
