Enough with the cats lol. What you want is one of these little fellas. Vegetarian, so no unwanted 'gifts', and even uses a litter tray.

Many years ago I had a cat that brought one of them home, found it in the kitchen one morning with it's throat ripped out. It wasn't a wild one either, it was black and white so it was someone's pet.

Poor rabbit. It's instinct though, you can't train them not to.

Since our other bunny died, Smudge lives in the house. Couldn't bear the thought of him outside on his own over the winter. He is taken outside to free range in the garden when the weather is dry. I always stay with him though. Not worried so much about cats as the very aggressive magpies we get. He's a Netherland dwarf so pretty small.

We never had pets as a child so I just didn't get the pet thing and how attached you get to them. After we got two bunnies, I totally got it. He's nearly nine now, which is a good age for a rabbit; most only live a couple of years due to neglect.

This little fella has adopted me and is living in one of the barns, just turned up out of the blue and seems to be able to dodge all the dogs. He was painfully thin but have been getting a couple of feeds a day into him and he is starting to look a lot better. Checked all the normal channels and no one appears to have reported him missing so I will post up some pics of him on facebooks lost cats section. I need to try and get a wormer down his throat and some flea powder on him somehow.

Flea powder is a pain to use, I use Frontline Spot On, it's a pipette of liquid that you put on the back of their neck (so they can't lick it off) takes a couple of seconds to do and they are good for a month.

The trick with worming tablets is to chuck it as far down their throat as possible then hold their mouth shut whilst stroking their throat to make them swallow.

I had a cat years ago that had to have a tablet every day, she was so good that after awhile she'd just eat them from your hand. I suppose she got fed up of them being chucked down her throat and just decided to eat them and save us both the hassle.

Yes. I have a cat flap that reads the microchip so it only lets your cat in.

Sometimes you can feel the microchip just below the skin on the back of the neck, I can feel it on both our cats, it's about the same size and shape of an uncooked grain of rice.

Just about on stroking terms now he realises I dont want to eat him, I will try and have a rummage around his neck to see if I can find it. Bought some wormers and that was a fiasco, he ate everything in his bowl bar the pills, crushed them up and mixed them in his morning feed and he managed to separate bits of them out so I drowned what was left in his milk , job done.



He has been on dog food so I bought some pouches, turns his nose up at them so got some tins. I think he still prefers the dog food, any suggetions from the catist`s amongst you

Used to wear bike jacket and gloves, hold the cat, dad put the worming tablet in stroked neck for ages, OK it should have gone down by now, let cat go, straight up my chest and down my back (reason for the jacket). Stops at back door, nonchalantly spits worming tablet out and buggers off

Trying to get either of them into the car for a trip to the vets was even worse!!!!

I used a systemic flea treatment on mine, IIRC it was a powder mixed with their food.

See if you can get palatable tablets, mine loved them, eat them straight of my hand.

Get a pill popper syringe. We fill it with water, put the pill in the end then pump it into the back of their throats. They down get the chance to spit it out.

I wish I could help, I've had a fair few cats over the years and what one will eat the next will turn their nose up at, the current pair both like Sheba but they'll go off it for a while and refuse to eat it for a month or two. Currently it's the ones in gravy not jelly they like, she licks all the gravy and he wolfs down the meat, but they both like Iams dried food.

Cats you will never figure out, they each have their own personalities.

If the mog isn't keen on the food, make yourself a tuna sandwich and tip the drained juices, water/oil onto the mogs unappetising food,they'll soon wolf it down. This used to work a treat with mine, unless you've got the fussiest cat of all time.
