Haven't seen anything on this thread lately, would be interested to hear people's experiences so far?!
We have just finished our first year surveillance audits with no problems. Our company has benefited a lot from the CE marking as we have a few excellent new customers on board who all have full order books. The past year has been quite a challenge as we are only a very small company the amount of extra paper work that is generated can be quite overwhelming at times but as the year has passed i think we have become a lot more streamlined in the way we do things. I would say 70% of the jobs we do now are CE jobs.
i haven't noticed my consumables increase in price.Interesting bit is has it achieved better safety stats yet? And will it in the future? I know it's increased administration and consumables prices substantialy
Really good to hear that you are doing well out of EN1090! I have just booked in the gap analysis to finish everything on the welding side and get my RWC cert. The problem with where I work is that the boss's are very reluctant for change and everything takes so long! We still need to sort out the whole factory and organise the steel. I find the hard part is that we don't do this type of work so it's hard to get my head into how things need to be run, (this made the WPS's hard to do as I had nothing to reference from) but I'm sure it will all click lol.
7018 with ce are three times the same without at my two suppliers.i haven't noticed my consumables increase in price.
I thought all filler wires and rods we're CE marked now anyway?7018 with ce are three times the same without at my two suppliers.
I can imagine the paper work being quite overwhelming at times, luckily I'm just going to be the RWC so will be more checking paper work and writing WPS's. Can I ask where you will be taking the RWC course? Mine was through a company called CDL, good course and not to hard really, as long as you know a bit about welding at least. It is quite fun if you like that sort of thing lol!Yes it is quite a lot to take in at first, i now spend a lot more time in the office than i used too. One of the things that takes up a lot of my time is doing the data packs for our customer after the job is complete. Hopefully we will be moving to a digital system soon so that will speed things up. I'm booked on a RWC course in September as we now have no external coordinator for class 2 work, should be fun!

You forget stock at manufacturer, distribution and stockist
But as it's an European thing we have to consider rest of our planet might not give one for what the Germans want to happen
Anyhow I got some superb Lloyds certified rods very very cheap and bought in bulk. No ce mark means small market.
Some are never going to get the idea behind the ideas on this one
