What is the bulkhead plate for?

It's reinforces the floor pan area where the anti roll bar mounts to. The satchell front suspension uses a compression strut instead of the ant roll bar. There will be steel tubes that are welded to the plate and they will be where the bolts sit. Two tubes each side. Similar to the picture.

I like the 306..and the 205 gti. Both great little cars. Are you using gti6 engine.

Awsome...nice engines gti6. Saxo is the only car I haven't done an engine conversion on. Most of the conversions others have done are way to heavy for the saxo.

Wossner hi-comp pistons
Saenz forged conrods
Modified baffled sump
Oil pump tensioner (they don't have one as standard and high rpm tends to snap the chain)
Guy Croft Racing Engines head
3 angle valve seat
Bulletised valve guides
Valve grind
Piper solid lifters, valve springs and custom race cams
Jenvey tapered ITBs with inboard and outboard injector locations
Custom fabricated intake manifold made from standard intake plenum
Omex 710 ecu
Maniflow manifold (steel)
Ashley competition exhaust (steel)

That's all I can remember in the engine.
Should be enough for a health 250 bhp at least.

Nice..she should be a strong and powerful engine. Guy Croft.....ain't heard of that name for a long time. I have one of his books. Engine building and performance on fiat twin cams .

Yes definitely. Many years ago I had a couple of fiat 131 sports. His book covered every single detail.

This is where the wishbone bolts up to. I said anti roll bar in my previous posts.although it's close to it. Some people put steel tubes in this to help reinforce. I will most probably cut a bigger hole here and box and weld to the bottom and to my plate.

Also got to cut out these ridges and replace with flat material that are outlined. They sit proud about 3mm stopping my plate from sitting flush.

Yes it's a common place for a little flex when pushing the car hard.especially with road conditions to. The rally guys use this plate in the picture below. That's what gave me the idea.

all be it thoe this one looks roughly installed. Welding is a bit rough to.

Welding by race prep firms usually is, they have a lot to do in a short time for what amounts to little money so they have to work fast.

Didn't get much done today apart from cutting this out ..now I can see and can continue to make the rest of the bits.

Weather here is crud today.....so I started making my plates for the wishbone mountings.

Forgot the holes.

Maybe a bit OTT but if you weld the old holes to the new holes you won't get moisture and rust under your plate.

Once I am happy with the fitment I will clean up in that space and give it a good going with the weld through primer. Will plug weld in various places.
