I had exactly the same problem a while ago with my 3HP SIP compressor. Still trying to work out what thread I need so will be watching this. Been using it with a bundle of pillow filling taped over the old baseplate for a few years now!

I tried M16 and 3/8 BSP with no joy, well 3/8 BSP went in a couple of threads but didn't feel right.

Phoned tech today. The Pumps on a 3hp motor today are the same as the ones in 2009. So if the OP phones our spares department and asks for filters for a 000119510 3hp compressor. They will send the right ones to you. If you are trying to source them from another supplier, then you are on a hiding to nothing.

Probably just a M15 x1.5 metric...
Not uncommon on pipe fittings.

15 diameter you say...
and 6 points over 10mm... that works out at 1.6...do the threads line up with a standard m10 screw if you offer it up by ant chance?

The pitch of an M10, not diameter.

This for example is part of an M12x1.5 pipe union...

Using a known bit of thread as a pitch gauge. (M10x1.5)

yes but 15mm is the start at the widest end,
unless my vernier calipers are fooked

13.6mm if i get the calipers right into the first half of the thread, m12 is way too small
