Yup. 100 mm center height. Thanks for checking though.Looks like it is too big, the one I have is about 130-135mm min centre height
@eLuSiVeMiTe I think I have a set of dividing plates here I bought them about a month ago with a plan but have changed direction the Handel has been used but the pages have not should you diside you want a set at some time in the future i may sell them for a little less than I payed for themAye. Chonos have them and the tailstock to match too. Think they replace the index ring.
Il grab both at some point.
not as intresting as cnc though. Get to leant a bit for future projects.
Cheers Gaz. That's pretty much the way Intend to go.
No I dont in hindsight.Do you need a geared stepper? If you can get enough resolution/torque/accuracy from direct drive then it will eliminate a possible source of backlash.
By linear you mean the worm spindle moving in and out of its bearing. From the looks of it your main sources of backlash are worm to wheel and linear movement of the worm. I'm guessing linear movement of the worm is accounted for?
Cheers for the offer. Il remember that if I feel the need for them.@eLuSiVeMiTe I think I have a set of dividing plates here I bought them about a month ago with a plan but have changed direction the Handel has been used but the pages have not should you diside you want a set at some time in the future i may sell them for a little less than I payed for them

Hopefully they won't be needed if I get this right the tailstock will be though. Do you have both? If so I'd take both as a lot.
No worries. I'd probably never use the plates.NobI have the Handel plates and sector divider but if I was to part with it I would like to make a copy Handel first but don't have the tail stock
Do you really need this. Dro and coordinates also works well on the horizontal plane
Right now. Nope. Will in the future though.Do you really need this. Dro and coordinates also works well on the horizontal plane
Been racking my brains trying to remember what they were called. Cheers. An Oldham coupling should do what you want and they are rigid.
Yep I know the feeling about spending on the workshop but ha ho it might as well be in tools and equipment that passes time and you get enjoyment out of as in the bank at least in tools etc you have something to show for your money .I am allso just going to go down the direct route for the time being that's what I have been doing whilst cutting gears recentlyNo worries. I'd probably never use the plates.
Must kurb my spending. It's mounting up atm with all the tooling I've been picking up.
Total for this project atm will be under £70 excluding the rt itself and ali to fab the motor mount.
Gonna go direct I think. Neater and less obstructive.
