Sorry you misunderstood my replyAs You mentioned the fan and shifting heat you where obviously meaning the air would travel out through open windows ,I was making the point that the air travels out with no control from us, now if you could make glass that the air traveled one way ie out but not in at the same time as retaining the heat then that would be expensive methinks,
The thing is with the electric cars they will still have to have massive amount of ventilation in winter with 5 people in them so heating will consume as much/more than the motors but they are now having to have water cooled motors so there will be heat recovery from that I suppose but only when driving unless it is stored ---- more problems to overcome.
Yes . The blower has to blow somewhere and with today’s cars being sealed the only way out is through the flap vents
Then moving on, the heat loss through the windows is where a great deal of heat is lost - otherwise when you turn off the engine and blower the car would stay nice and toasty for hours whereas in reality due to heat loss it gets cold very quickly
That heat loss is there all the time if the outdoor temp is less than the cabin temp
