I noticed a few things I got from Tescos today had jumped up 10p or 20p per item - things I buy on a regular basis.
Food does take energy to plant/harvest/process/deliver.
I fear for low income families this winter. I really do!

In the garden in my case. Old man was a tree surgeon so never any shortage of logs for a fire with mates.

Maybe back to the menu of my childhood.
Rabbits hares ducks pigeons eels - someone elses venison pheasants partridges and trout.
Potatoes bread dumplings swedes with every meal.
Same veg day in and day when it was in season.
Cheap offal for main meals. (some of this is served as a delicacy in posh resturants now).
Fruit pies in pastry.
Crabs and cockles in the summer.
Salad everyday as grandads garden was full of it.
Chickens and eggs from our garden.
Pickled and salted everything in jars in the winter.

Jeez! all I had was oxo cubes and a jar of golden syrup
You laugh...
I went to school with kids that had breakfast cereal.
As I child - I got milk or porridge - eggs - or cold food from a meal before.
(cold pastry meat pie - or cold meat on bread - or fryed up potatoes with veg - bubble and squeak).
Nothing went to waste in our house - you just got it cold for breakfast.

I plan my meals and food gets rolled over from dinner to lunch or meat/veg gets cooked and split down to go in something else
As a single lad when I lived on my own I was doing £18 an average shop
All the rest of my wages went on beer and chasing girls

Don’t believe fizzy and his strange notion that ev have indersized tyres that cause dangerous handling and braking.I was quite looking forward to buying / leasing an electric car in the next few years.
