Dont know what they will do in California/Arizona/Nevada regions as Lake Mead is almost dry and they are about to turn the dynamo off at the Hoover DamGoogle it, i was shocked when i saw the lake now....Cheap Tesla anyone???
I've seen a video where they point out an old water mark and it's lost the depth of multi storey buildings.
Re Hoover Dam. I visited the dam when in Arizona on a Mountain Biking Trip with a couple of mates in 2015.
The water level was low then, and hadn't been at a respectable level we were told in many years.
There is a massive concrete flue bypass chute built into it - to funnel excess flood water off. Apparently water has flowed through it just once in the Dams lifetime, and that was only a few years after construction was completed.
(The strange thing for me, was being relatively unimpressed by the Dam that is made such a big thing of... cos its not actually all that big, and not particularly wide as it's in a narrow cleft in the GC. IMO the stone-built Dams in the Elan Valley in Wales are more impressively engineered, while the impression I git from being on a Dam in the Grossglockner area, above Malta, Austria - was that the Austrian Dam was larger, certainly wider - and no-one seems to have heard of that one).

You just repair them, the same as you would if an injector or pump or similar had gone on your engine. Find a garage that does EV work, most likely just needs a couple of new cells replacing in the pack. Generally less than 100 quid in parts and a days labour.

Nice? My MG ZT (British rubbish of course) went 10 years and probably 100k past its warranty and only needed a new exhaust and cambelts....

I have seen a couple already, and my guess is you will start to see a lot more specialists that just do battery pack repairs - guys that can diagnose and replace individual cells and reset any software to get you back on the road. It will be a lucrative market.
I suspect it will end up with an "arms race" between them and the manufactures who will want to lock out any third party repairs to avoid losing revenue or any potential liability issues.
