That depends on how they're implemented.there safety cameras dont forget that they have them on the main road near us but theres never been an accident in 45 years on it
where i live its like a racetrack on a night i rang the old bill up about it and they said its not viable to use a speed camera as they wouldnt catch many . so that says it all in a nutshell . revenueThat depends on how they're implemented.
Police can put a speed camera wherever they want, but any fines just go into a central fund, the same as any fines any police officer issue you.
In order for the local area to benefit from fines, cameras and locations have to be part of a local safety partnership which has restrictions on where cameras are positioned. They've got to be positioned in known speeding and accident spots, with that regularly reviewed.
Not really. They deployed round here wherever they feel is a good trap spot (i.e. where they can tuck away and hide as much as possible, and usually where & when the posted limit is out of all proportion to the true risk/safety levels to anyone. That depends on how they're implemented.

If you say so - its not the equivalent of anything. But that’s the equivalent of doing 72 in a 60 or 84 in 70 ….
it is the equivalent... in fact it is exactly the same, its 20% over the posted limit... get over it or complain to your council... "obey it, near as." .. is that the same as saying they don't ? or is that just you playing with words to justify your position that its ok to ignore it as long as its in your village, or you think it safe? the rules don't change because you don't like them....If you say so - its not the equivalent of anything.
The really anoying thing is, we have a perfectly adequate 30 in our village, never policed. The sensible drivers obey it, near as. The thicko bmw audi drivers, and increasingly merc, just come through at 60 or mor, because the rules of the road don't apply to them. When they (the Welsh government) put a 20 here they will still do 60 or more...

Does it apply to push bikes?it is the equivalent... in fact it is exactly the same, its 20% over the posted limit... get over it or complain to your council... Yes, ours came as two front ,two middle and a three seater back bench seat, still with enough room for three sensibly sized suitcases , my seats are down at the dealership as they had to be taken out to get my electric whel chair to safely fit inth back cargo area.@DAPPH
Do you know if you can get a 7 seater PHEV?
We had the diesel 7 seater Outlander and recently sold it and got a Honda HRV but the missus keeps on about missing her 7 seater!
Question.Yeah. I detest the things. Round here they are always deployed at peak traffic times (where the volume of traffic means no chance of catching anyone truly dangerous, but they'll catch a profitable number of "offenders" a few mph over the posted limit - and often when the limit has been lowered below that which has been considered perfectly safe for decades).
There is very little to no "safety" justification for where & when the Scamera's are deployed in Dyfed-Powys - but a mass of evidence pointing squarely at blatant Highway Banditry.
Fully charged on a warm day about 33 if you are sensible on the accelerator , 24 if you give it what for....... Wheeeeee !Thanks, how many miles can it do on electric only?
Do they really do this?various sensors tied to cameras check your vehicle for exhaust gas emissions & exhaust heat signature so computers & people can send you a fine if you're non compliant .
Yes electrical to chemical reaction has heat lossIsn't the battery being kept warm whilst the car is connected to the charger on a floating trickle ? That would explain a half discharged battery unconnected to the mains showing on it's displays that it's too cold to operate.
I saw a brand new Rangerover stuck on a totally flat grass field in the wet once. It simply sat there with all four wheels turning and going nowhere.Of course in the snow skinny tyres are much better to bite through to the tarmac underneath. So you are quite right - there was a time I got stuck on a petrol station forecourt with the fat tyres not biting. An old Citroen 2cv with bicycle tyres had no problem at all
I was once invited to a Land Rover event at Eastnor Castle. Amazing day out.I saw a brand new Rangerover stuck on a totally flat grass field in the wet once. It simply sat there with all four wheels turning and going nowhere.
I was no better, in a front wheel drive Rover 800, but some lady in an old Landrover towed both of us to the road. That was at an agricultural show, so no shortage of tow vehicles around.
