My V2 seems to have three seperate chambers in the base. The front two are easy to acces through the filler and pump holes. The rear has the drain on it and also seems to have an access hole under the motor in the rear. I haven't taken the motor to see how big it is yet though!

Grim_d. I have a Victoria U1. I've changed it to single phase (including the coolant pump). I have kept the original pump, untested but it looks ok, I don't think its exactly the same as yours but it may fit your machine. Any interest in it? Free to good home.

That is a really nice machine. I have just bought a Harrison Vertical/Horizontal machine which is very similar. I haven't got it yet but looking forward to getting in and about it. I think it is a bit of a dilemma, how far do you go when checking things and stripping them down? I suppose it depends how much you find wrong with it...I'm going to be fitting a VFD to mine for the main motor and power feed. The basic idea is to stop short of a full refurbish and repaint etc.
That said I doubt I'll be able to resist giving the mechanicals a thorough check over, along with the mandatory oil changes.

As a minimum, I'd go as far as to dismantle it enough so that you can be sure all the oil passage ways are clear. Check the thread I linked to earlier on ^^.

Thanks for that Johnser. I will certainly do as you advise. I will most likely check the bearings etc and ensure they are within adjustment, if there is provision for it.

BTW, astonishing the corrosion on that suds pump. Nearest I've seen to that was seawater on magnesium/zinc components.
Hello All Elliott/Victoria Mill owners. Does any of you have an rough/accurate weight for the U1 milling machine. Lathes mentions 23cwt for the entire range butthis includes some much larger machines so perhaps the U1 is lighter for trailering. Thanks Tom

Mine's not an Elliott, but it's a size 2 (Test 2u, Italian), I reckon it's 1.5 to 2 tons easily so a size 1 probably 1.5?
Not as heavy as my little Holbrook though, tbh...
