With the correct oil that does f all for the engine but saves the planet apparently..It does indeed. Like many other manufacturers these days.
Crazy idea. Make sure you change the oil frequently.

A lot of the bad publicity relates to the old 3L engine. Good for 300,000 miles but many were failing at 30,000 miles or less. Turns out people.not using main dealers were unaware that the oil pump wouldn't self prime after an oil changeOne of my Sunday Lunch club, is boss of a biggish business…..will never buy a ford pick up again due to the big engine rebuild bills just out of warranty….8 k a time by all accounts….
Was this the V6? The Jag diesel v6 was notorious for crank bearing failures - just after servicing in many cases - argument for allways filling the filter before fitting, or maybe even not doing oil and filter together?A lot of the bad publicity relates to the old 3L engine. Possibly…but these a the 2ltr s bought new, supplied and serviced by Ford. I know 3 others who've had similar issues, all bought new, at between 60 and 90k, all worked hard thought, ones a fencing contractor the other an agri contractor, the third just unlucky….if a motor model has issues, his will get it.A lot of the bad publicity relates to the old 3L engine.
