And yes, the garage should be out of bounds, but to the in-laws !!Isn't this a reason to be moving into the garage for the weekend mate
I would be with the one I truly love------------- my MK11

No. Still wondering which way to go. I have a friend who is a fabricator/welder, who has fitted roll cages to many of the Fiestas, Minis and BMW Compacts that race at Knockhill Circuit. He is trying to point me down the route of a weld in cage, probably one from Sean, as he thinks I am capable of doing the job. I'm still not sure, but I could always do the first fit and tack up, then get him to come down and finish it off for me.
I wouldn't want to take any chances on the roll cage.
I know I could easily do a bolt in cage, with multi-points. I've still a few other bits to finish yet, so I'll keep thinking about it for now.
Can you advise the best way to line up rear alloy arches. Do I find the centre of arch and line it up with centre of tub or are they offset one way or the other?
Managed to get a couple of days at the car last week. Got the seat rails, sill tubes and gearbox tunnel all welded in. 4 link cross brace is tacked into place ready to weld.
Started to fit the front bulkhead strengthen plates today, hopefully finish them on Thursday.
Good to see Rallyreturn ( http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=27782 ) is also getting on well.
Hi. I have the exact same tunnel which I am in the process of fitting to my mk1 escort. I have found that it really isn't a great fit and have spent a load of time working out when I need to un-bend the tunnel edges and fettle the body work. Did you find the same issues? Any advice you car share with me please?
