It is an old wooden sledge, which belong to my wife and her sisters.
The shell was fully stripped back in January, then wiped over with a rag and Gibbs. Odd small patch of slight surface rust, but generally still very clean.
Should just need a good wipe with pre-paint cleaner to get rid of it when ready to paint.
It has just been pointed out to me that WD40 does not contain any silicon, and apparently does not create any problems near paint shops.
That from someone who works in a major body repair centre.
