Fire extinguishes

I thought would test one of the old ones out today from the garage and it worked! shame it could not be stopped,
I did not know that they had a co2 cylinder in side that propelled the water out! Can they be refilled and a new co2 cylinder fitted or is it not worth it?

I also did know realise the CO2 extinguishers are made from ali either after taking one apart.

That looks old 60's maybe?
Modern ones are just air charged via a tyre valve on ours.

yes probably 60s mate, ok I may cut it up for a flue for the chimnea build then shame though

Go buy a new 6lt foam, 2kg CO2 and a 6kg powder.
That will give you the full coverage you need.

Yes.
Foam for most fires.
CO2 for electrical fires.
Powder for liquid and gas fires.

I will have a look at the new ones, we have extinguishers in fixed locations for fire only.
But also have a few old co2 and water ones we re fill kept for hot works.

DO NOT CUT THE OLD ONE.
E bay it or donate to local museum.
