Flooding

Yesterday, coming back I chose to try to cut round the back of a local town.
To find the road was closed due to flooding. Signs up, cones in place. So very clear.
Meant I had to go the long way home.
But as I turned around a silver "Merc" drove round the cones and down the road.

Today I had to go out with a friend to a bigger DIY store. He drove round the way I tried to the day before. The road was open, but restricted.
There on the side of the road was that "Merc", stopped just were the floods would of been.

My mate has been watching the the river Severn at Bridgnorth recently and another 500mm will being it almost level with his front door.

Despite the damage and the such, there is some good news.

The archaeologists have been have a good time.

All the old rivers, water courses (Roman and middle ages etc.) are showing up.

This means the future planning applications can take that into account.

View attachment 212628 View attachment 212629 This is the highest we’ve seen in 33 years,and more importantly the 4th time our meadow has flooded this autumn/winter,the climate for whatever reasons sure is changing.view from our longe,don’t need a tv or workshop jobs today.its due to rise some more in the next 8 hours.

Update....were now on our 8th flood this season
