YouTube makes no sense to me. There’s another channel doing similar content to me, been doing it half the time, has twice the subscribers as I do, has at least 5x the views and occasionally gets his videos on the homepage so they get mega views which just snowballs into more subs more views etc.
I don’t know wether he has just been lucky or if he’s doing something I’m not, or if my content in general isn’t a people pleaser.

It’s quite disheartening and really demotivational, and not because I want his to be doing as bad as mine, but I want mine to be doing as well as his. There’s no logical reason they shouldn’t apart from “the algorithm”

That all ties in with you other point, if I’m demotivated to put stuff on youtube then I don’t see the point in filming, if I don’t film I struggle for content and if I struggle for content I don’t release videos often enough and youtube doesn’t like that so the videos you do release don’t do as well which demoralises you further. So yes I try to film as much as possible but sometimes it’s just easier to crack on with it and film the aftermath.
The only thing keeping me going at the moment is I still want a diary of the car and YouTube us the easiest place to keep it all, I just don’t care how well it does anymore lol.

here’s hoping when it’s painted it gets a little more traction. If not then I really don’t know what else to do.

as for what you’re gonna watch for a few months, there will be content, like I have to fit Ford abs rings to the 350z rear end somehow, that’s a video...

have to work out the idle signal from the engine... wiring to redo on the front... spoiler to make... painting the inlet manifold...

And I’ll probably get the megane up and running whilst I have the space, and fix the merc ready to sell it

stripping it down to its major component parts only took about 4 hours, whilst live streaming.
Then bits and bobs over the next few days like peeling the side strips off and taking the brake and fuel lines off etc. It could easily be stripped to nothing in 6 hours.

No it’s not my day job, everything in the vids is a hobby. I work on the railway in the week.

not gonna see it for a good few months now - or at least you lot aren't unless you're a patreon *wink*wink*

gives me some time to chill out a bit and do some of the bits on the engine and the subframes. and work on the other cars that are in dire need of the garage space

it’s not rusty, it has an engine problem lol.

I think a clean would be a good start lol.
It’s got low oil pressure when it warms up, I’ve changed everything on the bottom end with no change and then it fell on me when I bought the focus so I put it in the corner to think about it’s actions

so new cylinder head on it, tidy it up a little bit, then cries fingers it keeps it’s oil pressure. Needs a map, needs an Mot then I’m gonna enjoy it for what it is

yes.

oil light comes on at 0.7 bar. Pressure at the switch reads 0.7 bar

it’s not the bottom end, trust me I’ve changed everything

seriously, it’s not the pump, I’ve had 3 different ones in there.

I've had the oil pump bearings changed, I’ve had the mains & big ends changed, I’ve had the big ends remachined and line bored, tripple checked bearing clearances, removed the turbo from the oil system, tried a grade thicker oil and it doesn’t make a shred of difference.

pressure is measured from a gauge attached to the pressure sensor hole which is why I know the light comes on at 0.7bar

only remaining issue is at the top, so it’s getting a new/second hand cylinder head with associated bits like cams etc.

if that doesn’t fix it then it’s having a whole different engine
