And if you need to make new sections of loom, piece of ply/MDF with nails in to bend the wires around before adding loom tape, makes a nice neat job.

I do admire the way you work. Very methodical and calm. I can do methodical, but wish I had your patience. I'd have lost my rag with it and broken something important, which would have given me even more work to do.

Did that with my r32 golf. Told everyone it was a 1.6, or a diesel at the drag races. I was naughty like that lol,
Age 18 with a r32 most people believed it was a replica though so I played on it.
As for the wiring wouldn't it have been easier to run the lexus loom and clocks in the focus dash??
ha I’m glad the editing is that good it fools you whenever I go out the garage I generally have no idea what I’m going to do next - I also guess you didn’t see when I broke everything I did a few episodes ago? It doesn’t always go to plan lol

Is there software out there too write files to ecm ? is it all through the obd2 plug like most use ? glad your getting on top of the wiring now
Unfortunately this is old school OBD so it isn’t as easy as CANBUS and interrogating data and outputting a specific code - this can be done but isn’t as simple as it could be.
I have a plan B for the dash anyway. Currently it’s not important to get it working and get the car running

@Jaffman Hugely impressive work, can I ask what your trade is, auto electrician by any chance?
But my heart nearly stopped when I saw you reach over the top of that bare cutting disc to support/catch the offcut of round bar......
When I was editing the video I was shocked at myself tbh! “Did I really do that?!?” Turns out I did lol, I do think the camera angle makes it look worse than it is but I did cringe! I’m not an auto electrician lol.
I don’t really know what I’d say I am tbh as I’ve moved onto engineering management now but I done my apprenticeship and my first few years fixing trains. So mechanical electrical experience on heavy engineering really.
cars are just little trains lol, some bits are simpler (only 12v on a car for example) other bits are more complicated (lots of modules on cars that need to talk to each other in their own special way)
mechanical principles are mechanical principles so nothing much changes there apart from the spanner sizes

You can get Chinese versions of these and there easy to wire in and won’t look that out of place
