Transfer it into ink scape. Convert to vector. Remove what is not needed. Then transfer to dxf. Then import to fusion.

You can skip the DXF stage, fusion can deal with SVG better than dxf in my experience.

Yep another option there.

Tracing is obviously 100% accurate. When you use Inkscape and trace bitmap you can get mixed results.

You can do it two or three ways.

• Import as canvas and calibrate - then trace lines around the part using fit spline or lines and arcs.
  
• Find an SVG file online and insert directly into a sketch
• Find a good jpg, clip art silhouette, EPS or other vector file and use Inkscape to trace a path round the object. Save as an SVG and pull into fusion.

A good tool in fusion when sketching is the line tool as it also allows you to do a radius as well. Vid below, draw line then for next segment hold down the left button and move and it will draw an arc.

I’m confused how do you do that exactly?

click move to draw your line and click that is your line drawn. Next hold down the left mouse button and move and the arc will form

I saw, I think Lars, doing it but there was no explanation and I just kept messing around until I found out how it was done. Quite handy when tracing I would imagine.

Yeah I’ve seen John Saunders do things, especially with constraints, to get a sketch centred and stuff really really quick. Can’t bloody find the video now. You hold shift or Ctrl or something and it puts a line bang on the midpoint of another.

If wanting to put a line mid point of another you just move the mouse until you see the mid symbol and then click that as your start.
Lots of shortcuts in Fusion, as in all other CAD, just getting used to them and finding them out is the problem

Yeah I can do that one with the delta symbol for midpoint.

It was if you already had say a logo or a sketch and wanted to align it with another part of a sketch in the centre, you select the sketch then click one of the constraints, then hold shift and it just jumps to the right place!
