Well I’m very happy with my lot. My lovely wife is almost 20 years my junior, and she has presented me with two lovely children.
I’m 59 with a 3 year old and a 5 year old. Sometimes they make me feel old but mostly they keep me young.
They do tire me out but I wouldn’t want it any other way!

One of my biking cronies used the money he earned in IT to make certain investments that meant he could retire at 50. He had a big bachelor pad in a Yorkshire village with games room, home cinema room, Ducati in the garage, foreign holidays, weekends away with the lads and as many ladies as his tongue could cope with.
Then his current 38 year old girlfriend got pregnant, so the big house was sold to make way for a 3-bed semi in suburbia, he got a part-time job in a shop and has ended up as a house-husband while she follows her career. If we're lucky we see him for a long weekend on the bikes once a year
I think he's happy, but being a Yorkshireman it's hard to tell

We were having a conversation last night about someone’s kid who’s 13 and how he’s not expected to do much because he’s still young - I realised I was the same age when I did my first machine restoration, a fully seized Follows and abate push lawnmower, had it working, repainted and used it to mow our front garden. Years ago, Fred Wedlock used to do a spot in the local club, now long gone. He was a very funny man on stage, a lecturer in English before he changed direction into entertainment.
