2nd generation Range Rover?
2nd generation Range Rover?
I thought a VFD has to be wired differently?
I used the Allen Bradley inverter, 4amps a channel but won't run the lathe at more than 800rpm as it slows down too much on big cuts. Just replaced the crossfeed screw with a Ballscrew, super smooth and zero backlash.
thats the one i put up seems to be lots on fleybayI wouldn't mind a Lister genny

Three years on you still running that and KW rating?
Hows it wired 220V or 400+V
Had same trouble with a 4KW 400V inverter and a 5.5KW Transwave rotary and wouldn't say beefy cuts, far from it 2mm cut on 1 3/8" 6082 would see and hear it slow down to a standstill within seconds even at 540rpm.
10KW running 400V it immediately ramps up 4 yrs on. I cant put 1/2 the cut of what i could with a 1 1/2hp 1ph 240v Harrison 140, facing 3/8" off on 5 1/4" round on power feed at 1000rpm.
Finally got round to rebuilding my lathe to day. I'd sent it off (well the parts) to Brian Caddy at Slideway Services in Nuneaton. He regound the bed taking off a massive 70thou yes you read it right 1.6mm, and the same from the underneath of the saddle, rebuilding it with Marlon,
Really happy with the result. Brian is a top bloke. When I went to collect it he was starting on the 2nd of 14 Bridgeports from the RAF.
Too many pistons
Can you give a rough idea of what that sort of work costs? I have an old Colchester that might need that sort of treatment one day...
